The last few weeks have flown by! While in many ways this is the most wonderful time of the year, it can also be quite busy and stressful. I have yet to send out a single card or make any cookies, but I still have time - right? As the kids finish school for their winter vacation, the anticipation of the arrival of santa is getting stronger by the day. As a small business owner, I not only have to worry about my own presents and wrapping - I have my customers orders that I have to make sure are made, embroidered, wrapped and shipped on time. As I am writing this, I am listening to some of my favorite holiday music coming from the other room. The kids are watching Charlie Brown's Christmas. It is making me take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the moment.
Thank you to all of my customers and retail accounts for supporting Maisey Mae. I wish you all the very happiest of holidays. Stay tuned for great new things to come in 2015!
All the best,
Annie

Holiday Gifts - Shop Small This Holiday Season
I was out and about shopping yesterday in the small town that I live in. I was so happy to see so many people out supporting local businesses. I love that American Express created Small Business Saturday. While they changed their rules so online only businesses like mine can't participate, I still love to promote it and get out there and shop local!
While Maisey Mae products have been given at baby showers for years, we would love for you to think of us at other times of the year! We have expanded our product line to include new gifts. Prices range from $5.00 on up.
This year we have added some fun new holiday products. Take a look at these adorable bibs!

Holiday Season
It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week. Not sure where the time went! We are so thankful because we are also going to be celebrating our son's 6th birthday. He was born on Thanksgiving so it is always an extra special holiday for us.
As we gear up for the holiday shopping season, I wanted to share some fun new holiday items that we have this year. We have lots of festive bibs and burp cloths to help celebrate the season. http://www.maiseymae.com/holiday/
Another great holiday gift this year are our great little fleece hats. Perfect to keep little heads warm as the cold winter approaches. http://www.maiseymae.com/fleece-hats/

Thank You to Our Veterans
Today on Veterans Day I would like to take a moment to honor our veterans. I am especially grateful to those that paid the ultimate sacrifice protecting our country and keeping us safe. In addition, I would like to thank all of the hard working members of military - past and present. As the daughter of a career Naval officer, Veterans Day has a special meaning to me. While my dad didn't lose his life in battle, he did die of causes related to his service. Today I think of all of the families that have lost loved ones because of their service. Here is one of my favorite pictures of my father.

Why Are Burp Cloths Such a Great Gift?
My best selling products are burp cloths. Why are they such a great gift for new parents? First of all, you can never have too many burp cloths with a newborn. Maisey Mae burp cloths are extra thick and made from six layers of 100% cotton cloth diapers for super absorbency. Our soft, luxurious burp cloths measure 14.5"x21" and have proven to hold up to hundreds of washings. They can be machine washed and tumble dried - easy for the busy parent.
Our burp cloths can be personalized to make them extra special. As a new mom, my favorite gift was monogrammed burp cloths. Did you know that you can also use them as hand towels? Here in our downstairs bathroom, I use some of my Maisey Mae burp cloths.
What else can you use burp cloths for as your kids get older? Lots of things - diaper changing pad, dish towels, cleaning rags and even golf towels! The best part is you never have to worry about sending a duplicate gift - there are so many options on our site and as I said before, you can never have too many burp cloths! http://www.maiseymae.com/burp-cloths/

The Story Behind Maisey Mae
For my first blog post, I thought I would give you a little insight into the background of Maisey Mae. Maisey Mae was started back in 2002 by Michelle Whitney in Cape Elizabeth, ME. In 2012 a mutual friend of ours connected us and I purchased the business from her. While Michelle was ready for a change - I was ready for a new challenge. A few months after I bought the business I left my full time marketing job so I could dive right in.
A couple of months after I bought the business, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Fortunately it was caught very early and after surgery and a year of preventative treatments, I am doing very well. I am looking forward to having that challenge behind me and to moving forward and growing Maisey Mae.
My husband Tyler and I live in New London, NH along with our two kids Colby(5) and Grayson(3).
In addition to information about my products, I am also going to share some fun articles about kids, parenting, and activities. I welcome feedback at any time about my products or things that you would like to see from Maisey Mae. You can call me at (603)440-9662 or email me at info@maiseymae.com
